Diapers, Giggles,& Cuddles
I would love to start blogging again about my new life as a mommy. In the past I've made terrible attempts and blogging, but I'd like to really give it a try this time. It would be great to blog about the memories we've created, and something for Henrik to look back on.

Back At It.....
Wow! This is quite embarrassing. It's been forever since I've sat down and blogged on here or a little of 19 months to be exact. So since then, there have been a few changes. Well rather big changes, really. I had a baby. So clearly it's been a while since my last post. I built a baby, moved into a new house, and then had a baby. Henrik David. He is my little ray of sunshine. It's crazy how different your life becomes when there's a little one in the picture, and I wouldn't have it any other way. He was born June 14th, 2013, and nothing's been the same since. This summer has been a crazy one. Since the arrival of Henrik, it's been non-stop. We've made many trips to Caseville this summer, which was so nice. Dave was traveling a lot, so Henrik and I pack up and headed north for a majority of summer. We were able to sneak a vacation in with the entire Lassila family up at Hermit's Cove, which was so relaxing and nice to spend an entire week with family. Now that summer has ended, fall has definitely made an appearance. We've been enjoying cool walks around time, and playing in leaves ( more like taking pictures in leaves), cider mill visits, and spending time with family. I'm also doing some work on the side for Ultimate Fake Cakes! Its been soo much fun working for her (she's such a sweetheart) and using my marketing degree a little. Life is so good right now. God has truly blessed us.
Here's one of my favorite pictures I took for Henrik's 4 mo pics.

Day (s) 5 & 6
I'm going to combine day five and six into one post. Is that cheating? lol
somebody I love:

childhood memory:
This one is hard. For the life of me, I don't know what to put. And, all of the pictures that I can think of using are at my parents house :(

So this pic will do. This picture was taken last year when we made a family trip to California. It was so much fun, and It was probably one of the last times we were all together on a trip. We had a blast in Cali and the nice thing about this trip was that nobody will argued or bickered like we did when we were much younger. But this trip was one of many that our family was able to take. I feel so blessed and thankful to have such a loving and wonderful family. Growing up we were able to take trips together and explore the country. It's funny, because as you get older you cherish those times and and , I realize how blessed we were that we were able to share so many memories together.

30 day photo challenge- day four
Day four of the thirty day photo challenge- your favorite color.
I don't necessarily have one favorite color. It changes on a daily basis. seriously. So right now, my favorite color is yellow. It's so cheerful and springy, and I'm very ready for spring. Last weekend when I hit up Salvation Army, I found this table cloth. I fell in love with the lace trim and color. So today, my favorite color is yellow. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. The sun is starting to peek through over here, so hopefully I'll find myself outside today!

30 day photo challenge-day three
Well, I'm late to the start on the whole 30 day photo challenge, but I figure I can still join, I'm only two days behind. I think it'll be fun to partake, and hopefully it will light a spark to keep me blogging. I've been gone all day running around town with my mom and Lily. We hit up the antique show earlier this afternoon in Hartland and then we grabbed a bite to eat. Our trip ended a little earlier, since my mom is fighting a bad cold. Lily and I then headed to Costco. That was a trip in and of its self. I don't know why I always end up going into Costco on Saturday's. It's always a zoo. Seriously stupid. There's always way too many people in there and the entire time, your jogging around people while pushing a thousand pound cart full of crap. But we survived needless to say. After the Costco trip, I headed home to make room in the fridge and cupboards. It's been a pretty good Saturday. I was able to run outside really quick before the sun went down to take a picture of the clouds. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Thrifting Finds
This past weekend I ran into Salvation Army, and I came out with a few finds. I always love going in there, because I always seem to find something worthwhile. I found a really neat blue carry on bag, which I can use when I head down to Arizona next month. I think it looks kind of retro and I love it.

I also found a few table clothes, which I've been in dire need of. I only have one black table cloth that is slightly too big for our table and Layla our little kitty always seems to be amused with the hanging edges, which then usually leads to the table cloth on the floor. Sure it's annoying, but I'm afraid she's going to take down a center piece with it. So I found a really pretty vintage yellow table cloth with a laced edging, and the biggest perk, it doesn't hang down in reach of Layla. score. I also picked up a simple white cloth too. I love how other peoples trash can become someone Else's treasure :)
I've also been in a crafty kind of mood lately. I've was feeling kind of antsy the other night after I got off work, and I felt like I needed to do something. So I decided to rearrange the pictures on the back of our bedroom wall. They've been really bugging me lately, and I haven't been able to decide what I wanted to do with them. I had them in a collage setting, but I wasn't feeling it. So I took most of them down and added a few new ones. I have a big bird canvas that is the centerpiece and then I put a few other frames up to accent the center. I put one of our wedding invites in the frame, along with some frames with wedding pictures. Then I crafted two new frames. I took fabric from the skirt I found at Salvation army that would never fit and I used it as a backer to the frame. I then sewed a bird silhouette to the fabric. One the other frame I put a card stock backing in the frame and sewed another bird silhouette out of fabric to it. I then added some sparkles to it to liven in up. I was pretty satisfied in my hand work :)

It feels good to start doing small crafts. I see all these ideas on pinterest and blogs and I finally put my ideas to good use.
please excuse the mess in the picture and the fact that it's off center.
Hope everyone is having a great week.

oh monday...please go away
today was a monday. usually i don't mind monday's, i look at them as a fresh start to the week. but today, it couldn't go by fast enough. Work was so busy today, and i feel so drained, but it's over now...thank goodness. after working a long day, i can't find much motivation to do anything tonight, which isn't good, because there's plenty go get done around this place. i think for tonight, i'll just pick up a good book, and spend my evening relaxing. i do have the rest of the week to attack my "to do" list. speaking of books, i just read "The Forgotten Garden" by : Kate Morton. Excellent book, I could not put it down. I think the hubby was getting annoyed since i was buried in that thing for a solid few days, I came up occasionally for air. I love those kind of books. The author did such a good job of placing you in that world, and making you feel attached to the character. So now, i'm on the hunt for another good book. have any suggestions?
Hope everyone had a good monday.

I love saturdays. In love. seriously.
It felt so good to sleep in this morning. I woke up to the sun streaming through the windows and I felt so well-rested, and I didn't sleep my day away. I was up by 8:30. I felt pretty productive this morning. A load of laundry made it in, dishes scrubbed, and a few bills paid before I made my way out of the house. I did have to squeeze in a few hours at work today prepping for monday, but oh well. I rewarded myself by hitting up salvation army with Jenny afterwards. I scored a really cool american traveler handbag today for three dollars! I can't wait to use it when I make a trip to Arizona later this spring. I also picked up a few table cloths and two skirts. I felt too lazy to try on one of the skirts, and lo and behold it won't fit. ever. so now i have an extra skirt to do something with. hmmm, i have not a clue what to do with it yet. the rest of my day has been spent relaxing at the in-laws and back at our place. later tonight we're heading out to a comedy show in lansing, something different to do. I love these kind of days where you make no plans, but everything falls into place. I'm trying to relax this weekend, because i'm dreading this upcoming week at work, lots to do! I hope everyone else is having a great weekend.
